The Institute of Near Eastern Languages and Civilizations at Peking University was established in 2005 to foster research related to Western Asia among scholars at Peking University. It is the research home of leading Chinese scholars in Assyriology, Egyptology, Hittitology, Hebrew Bible and Jewish Studies, Islamic Studies and Persian Studies.


The CAENO Foundation, New York, is a non-profit organization established in 2000. It supports historical and physical research pertaining to the chronology of events, epochs and civilizations.

Registration, Accommodation and Payment

Registration opens Thursday afternoon at 5:00, Oct 4, 2007. There will be a welcoming reception and dinner that evening.

The program of conference papers runs from the morning of Friday, Oct 5 to noon on Sunday, Oct 7, 2007.

Sunday afternoon is set aside for tours to local sights. (See FAQs)

Participants can choose to stay at the conference designated hotel for 3 nights or 4 nights. The hotel facilities are modern, and each room has a private shower or bath.

(Sorry, we cannot arrange hotel accommodations for your arrival before Thursday Oct 4 or extend your stay beyond the night of Sunday Oct 7, checkout time Monday noon.)

Please print and fill the payment form (PDF format; MS Word format), and follow the instructions regarding payment.

The early registration period lasts until June 1st. After that, you will be asked to pay an extra US$50 due to the difficulty of reserving hotel rooms.

There is no registration fee for the conference.
